Ryan Flynn homered for PBA in the 4th to tie the
game 1-1. Nick Smith and Matt Flynn each pitched
4 innings with 6 K's each and Nick singled in the
winning run (Matt Flynn) in the 8th for the win.
Hal Hagen pitched 4 solid innings for Waltons
with 8 K's. Wolf Gergits pitched 3 strong
innings and made great defense plays at SS. Phil
Varone went 2 for 3 at the plate.

Knights of Columbus 3

The Knights of Columbus won 3-2 as Sam Gangi
scored the winning run in the bottom of the 6th
inning. Drew Scammell hit a two out two run
single in the bottom of the 5th to tie the score
2-2. Eric Beer, Drew Patterson and Keegan
Murphy, combined to give up 5 hits over six
innings while striking out 12 and Tyler Murray
made a diving over the shoulder catch. For
Capital Bauer, Ben Place was great on the mound
pitching 4 scoreless innings striking out 8
batters. Nick Winters helped with offense with a
hit and a run scored.

5:30 pm Kiwanis 5
Ace Homes 6

Ace Homes came back from a 3 run deficit to beat
Kiwanis in extra innings. Three Ace Homes
pitchers, Zack Kircher, Ryan Foss, and Rory
Flaherty combined to limit Kiwanis to four hits
but Kiwanis made them count in keeping the game
close. Ryan Foss had 3 RBIs and the game
winning hit. Matt Walsh singled in the tying run
in the bottom of the 6th. A strong pitching
performance from Kiwanis' Travis Mooney and a two
RBI single by Quinn Beckwith kept their team in
the game.

5:30 pm Capital Bauer 5
PBA 3

Capital Bauer got 6 strong innings on the mound
from Jay Navin (4) and Nick Winters(2) to beat
PBA 5-3. Lee Barringer singled in Jay Navin and
Ben Place to put Capital Bauer ahead in the 6th.
Ian Frey and John Eddy of PBA made good contact
at the plate. Ryan Flynn (9K's in 4) and Jacob
Kamen (3K's in 2) pitched well for PBA.

Ace Homes 1

Wolf Gergits, Hal Hagan and Phil Varone combined
to pitch a three-hitter for Waltons. Wolf
Gergits scored three times and Phil Varone had
two RBIs for Waltons. Ryan Foss had two hard
line drive hits and Max Poppel pitched two
innings of soild relief for Ace Homes.

PBA 8

Nick Smith had an outstanding day on the mound
striking out 14 Batters and completing 6 innings
to lead PBA over Ace Homes 8-0. Ethan Daley went
3/3 and crossed the plate 3 times. Ryan
Czarnecki was 2/3 and scored twice. For Ace
Homes Ryan Foss pitched 4 strong innings with
7K's including striking out the side in the 4th.
Jack Rittenhouse was 2/3 with two SB's.

Kiwanis 0

Drew Patterson, Sam Gangi, and Keegan Murphy had
two hits each to lead Knights of Columbus to an
8-0 win. Keegan Murphy, Conner Crotty and Sam
Gangi combined to pitch the shutout and Jordan
Wilcox made nice play in the field at third at
the end of the game. Nick Stiansen had a good
day at the plate for Kiwanis
5:30 pm Capital Bauer 6
New Country 7

Devin Towne stuck out 5 in 3 scoreless innings
while Asa Connell belted 2 doubles and knocked in
2 runs to lead New Country Toyota over Capital
Bauer. Eric Ostrander made several defensive
plays in the winning effort. Capital Bauer's
Conner Kane pitched great in relief while Kyle
Tiersch added 2 singles.

5:30 pm Kiwanis 6
Ace Homes 1

Calvin Beckwith and Travis Mooney combined for a
2 hit, 11 strikeout performance to help Kiwanis
beat Ace Homes 6-1. Liam Gibney broke the game
open with a bases loaded double off the fence in
the 6th. Ryan Foss pitched exceptionally well
for Ace Homes holding Kiwanis to one run and 1
hit over 5 innings.

Waltons 0

Riley Rossi scored two runs and Drew Patterson
had two hits for Knights of Columbus as they won
5-0 over Waltons. Jeremey Ladue scored two runs
and made a great play at third to get out of a
bases loaded jam in the bottom of the third.
Keegan Murphy, Drew Patterson, Conner Crotty,
Eric Beerand Sam Gangi combined to pitch the
shutout. Hal Hagen pitched a shut out over the
first three innings with five strikeouts for
Waltons.

Ace Homes 4

Nick Winters had a double and a single along with
Issac Greco's 3 singles to lead Capital Bauer
over Ace Homes in league play. Connor Kane
recorded the win and Winters earned a save. Rory
Flaherty and Ryan Foss had back to back home runs
for Ace.

PBA 6

PBA overcame a 1-5 deficit to notch a win in the
6th. Ryan Czarnecki went 4/4 and scored 4 times.
Ryan Flynn (5k's), Matty Flynn, and Nick Smith
(5Ks) threw 2 innings each for the win. Brian
Surman, John Eddy, Mike Nagler hit the ball hard
to get on base. For Waltons, Hal Hagen went 2/3
with 2 RBIs. Wolf Gergits (5K's), Harrison
Kovachick (5K's), Hal Hagen and Kia Brumaghim
pitched a solid game.

Capital Bauer 0

Hal Hagen pitched an ace of a game going 5 full
innings and striking out 11, as Walton's edged
out Capital Bauer 2-0. Walton's first run was a
family event. Grant Stalker lead off with a
single, stole second and scored on his brother
Jeremy's base hit. The second run was driven in
by a solid triple to right by Phil Varone. Jay
Navin pitched three scoreless innings in relief
and Ben Place had the only hit for Capital Bauer.

Knights of Columbus 4

Travis Mooney had a fantastic day for Kiwanis
with a home run, 2 doubles and 5 RBIs to lead
them to the win over Knights of Columbus. Travis
also pitched 5 strong nnings and struck out 9.
Joey Payne had an 2 RBI double and Michael
Scialdone had drove in 2 runs as well. Keegan
Murphy provided all of the scoring for K of C
with a grand slam home run.
4:00 pm Ace Homes 4
New Country 2

Ace Home came from behind scoring 2 runs in the
5th and 6th to beat New Country. Ryan Foss
pitched a complete game 2 - hitter and hit a solo
home run to Give Ace Homes the lead. Matt Walsh
had 2 hits and Kyle Darby drove in the tying run.
Max Liebers also had a hit and scored 2 runs and
Richie Klimeck singled in an insurance run in the
6th inning. Teigue Donohoe pitched 2 scoreless
innings in relief for New Country. Both teams
played outstanding defensive.

New Country 5

Asa Connell belted a 3 run home run and pitched 4
strong innings to lead New Country Toyota over
Kiwanis. Matt Davis pitched well in relief and
Matt Klingbeil had a great defensive game in the
infield. Devin Coffey led Kiwanis with a triple
and two runs scored.

Waltons 4

Devin Towne struck out 10 batters and knocked in
2 runs to lead New Country Toyota over Walton's.
Jack Rice contributed with three hits and Trevor
LiCalzi added an RBI. For Walton's, Philip
Varone belted a double and two singles while
Jeremy Stalker and Harrison Kovachick each had 2
hits.

Knights of Columbus 3

PBA received a fine pitching efforts from Ryan
Czarnecki, Nick Smith and Ryan Flynn allowing
only 4 hits. Griffin Clancy made outstanding
defensive plays on 1B and collected 2RBIs at the
plate. Nick Smith added the 5th run on a deep CF
solo HR. For Knights of Columbus Keegan Murphy
and Connor Crotty kept the game close on the
mound with 10K's combined. Riley Rossi, Adam
Gary and Tyler Murray hit the ball hard to reach
base.

Kiwanis 1

Kai Brumaghin had two big hits, and Cal Millar
reached base three times to lead Walton's over
Kiwanis. Hal Hagen didn't need much offense as
he pitched five strong innings, striking out 10
and allowing only two hits. Phil Varone closed
out with a scoreless sixth inning. Travis Mooney
has two solid hits, and Michael Scialdone drove
in the only run for Kiwanis.

Capital Bauer 4

PBA's Nick Smith led the charge against Capital
Bauer by pitching a 1 hitter thru 5 innings
including 11Ks. As if that wasn't enough Nick
also blasted 2 HR's and racked up 7 RBI's on the
day. John Eddy came in relief in the 6th and
closed the game for the win. Ryan Flynn went 4/4
with 3 RBI's. For Capital Bauer Jay Navin, Nick
Winters and Lee Barringer pitched well collecting
9K's in total. Brandon Kapoor and Jake House got
on base and later scored.

Ace Homes 1

K of C won 7-1 to improve their record to 4-2.
Eric Beer was great on the mound striking out 10
batters. Conner Crotty and Sam Gangi came in to
pitch a scoreless 5th and 6th inning striking out
5 batters. Eric Beer, Keegan Murphy, Adam Gary
all had two hits for K of C. Jordan Wilcox made
a great play at third to continue with his
outstanding defense. Rory Flaherty hit a double
and had one run scored for Ace Homes.

Kiwanis 11

Kiwanis' bats came alive against New Country as
they scored 9 runs in the first two innings to
propel them to a 11-4 win. Quinn Beckwith
delivered 2 hits and had 4 RBIs and Devin Coffey
had three hits and three runs scored. Michael
Scialdone pitched great in relief for Kiwanis.
Teigue Donohoe had a two RBI single and Trevor
LiCalzi had a RBI double to the fence for New
Country.

New Country 0

Keegan Murphy pitched 5 scoreless innings with 10
strikeouts. Conner Crotty came in to strike out
the side in the bottom of the sixth to preserve
the shutout. Keegan Murphy had a two run RBI
single in the top of the 6th. Eric Beer and Sam
Gangi each scored a run. Devin Towne went
pitched great in defeat going six strong innings
striking out 9 batters. Teague Donahoe had one
hit and played great defense while Matt Klingbiel
made a great stop on a diving play at second.
1:30 pm PBA 13
Capital Bauer 4

PBA bats were on fire moving runners through the
entire lineup and once again Nick Smith (4/4) led
the charge with 2 HRs and 6 RBI's. Solid at the
plate were Ethan Daley 3/4, Ryan Czarnecki 3/4,
and Matt Flynn 2/3 with 7 runs scored. The Flynn
Brothers worked 5 innings on the mound (6K's)
with Relief by Mike Nagler in the 6th to close
the win. Ben Place and Connor Kane racked up
11K's from the rubber for Capital Bauer. Jay
Navin 2/3 and Connor Kane 2/3 hit the ball hard
to reach base and move runners.

Waltons 7

Frederick "Wolf" Gergits pitched a complete game
as Waltons Sports edged out Ace Homes in a tight
game. With the game tied in the fifth inning,
Kai Brumaghin led off with a double to right
field, and Phil Varone and Jeremy Stalker then
followed with back-to-back base hits to put
Walton's ahead for good. Ryan Foss, Zach Kircher
and Jack Rittenhouse provided the offense for Ace
Homes.

Knights of Columbus 8

Sam Gangi hit a two run single in the bottom of
the 6th to give Knights of Columbus an 8-7
victory. Sam was 2-4 with 3 RBI's and 2 runs
scored whileKeegan Murphy was 2-3 with 3 RBI's
and 1 run scored. Riley Rossi contributed 2 runs
scored. Tyler Murray and Conner Crotty pitched
great in relief and Drew Scammell played
outstanding defense at second base. For Waltons,
Hal Hagen pitched 4 solid innings giving up one
run and striking out 5. Both Hal Hagen and Phil
Varone were 3-4 on the day.

Kiwanis 0

Jacob Kamen tripled, Brian Surman Doubled in a
RBI and Griffin Clancy hit the ball hard to score
runners. Matt Flynn had 3RBI's on two doubles, a
triple, and scored twice. Nick Smith and Matt
Flynn kept Kiwanis scoreless from the mound.
Travis Mooney pitched well for Kiwanis with 8K's
in 4 innings and Cal Beckwith followed suit
fanning 4 in 2 innings. Joey Payne hit the ball
hard and Nick Stainsen reached base twice.

Knights of Columbus 9

Eric Beer pitched four strong innings and and had
hits and two runs scored on the offensive side of
the plate. Conner Crotty was 2 for 3 with two
runs scored. Jordan Wilcox drove a ball to deep
rightcenter for a double. Adam Gary had a nice
play at third. For Ace Homes Will Cheynoweth
had two hits and 3Ryan Foss pitched strong in
defeat.

Kiwanis 2

Jay Navin pitched a complete game scattering 6
hits and striking out 9 batters earning a win
for Capital Bauer(CB). Jake House had a double
and a single and Ben Place hit a triple scoring 2
runs for CB. Calvin Beckwith and Devin Coffey
each had doubles and Matt Reals had 2 singles for
Kiwanis. Calvin Beckwith pitch 2 shutout innings
in relief allowing no hits and striking out 3
batters.

New Country 1

PBA had several highlight plays in the game with
Brian Surman gunning a runner down at the plate
from CF, Luc Cianfarani delivering a bunt single
and also contributing an amazing catch at 2nd
base. Grand Slam HR's from Nick Smith and Ryan
Flynn (Nick hit a solo HR too.); Ian Frey 2/3;
Ryan Czarnecki 4 runs scored. Matt Flynn (struck
out the side), Mike Nagler, Ryan Flynn and John
Eddy worked the mound for the win. For New
Country, Devin Towne struck out 4 in 2 innings.
Asa Connell had a triple and Matt Klingbeil
played very well defensively at 2nd base. Matt
Davis, Trevor LiCalzi, Steve Foley and Matt
Klinbeil also pitched well.

Waltons 0

For PBA Ryan Czarnecki went 3/3 and scored 3
times. Ryan Flynn went 2/3 with 3RBI's. Luc
Cianfarani singled and then later scored. Strong
pitching from Matt Flynn (2 innings) and Nick
Smith with 11K's in 4 innings kept Waltons
scoreless. For Waltons Hal Hagen was on fire on
the mound for 2 innings with 6K's. Jeremy
Stalker and Oakley Reid hit the ball hard to get
on base.

Waltons 4

Cal Beckwith pitched 6 strong innings with 9
strikeouts before Kiwanis won in 7 innings.
Beckwith joined Devin Coffey with 2 hits each to
the lead Kiwanis' 10 hit attack. Joey Payne had a
key RBI to tie the game in the 6th inning with
Brendan Coffey scoring the eventual game winner
after a lead off single in the 7th. Michael
Scialdone scored 2 runs on the day. Wolf Gergits
pitched a solid 6 innings for Walton's while Phil
Varone went 2/3 at the plate.

Knights of Columbus 6

Conner Crotty pitched great for K of c giving up
one run over three innings. Sam Gangi and Eric
Beer each had RBI triples in the bottom of the
fifth to help break the game open. Riely Rossi
and Jordan wilcox each scored a run. For Ace
Homes Ryan Foss pitched well and was 2-3 at the
plate. Max Liebers and Richie Klimek each scored
a run for Ace Homes.

Teigue Donohoe blasted a home run and a single to
lead New Country Toyota over Capital Bauer. Mike
Parrish added a double and a single while Trevor
LiCalzi banged in 2 RBI. For Capital Bauer, Ben
Place hit a solo home run and struck out seven,
while Nick Winter and Jay Navin each had two hits.

Jay Navin pitched a complete games striking out 7
and allowing just 2 runs in a Capital Bauer’s
win. Joe Kolbe had a double and single and Kyle
Tiersh added 2 singles for the winners. Liam

Ace Homes 3

To back up Devin Towne's strong pitching
performance, Matt Klingbeil, Matt Davis and Mike
Parrish each belted in 2 runs to lead New Country
Toyota over Ace Homes. Jack Rittenhouse played
well behind the plate for Ace Homes, while team
mates Ryan Foss and Zack Kircher each contributed
with an RBI.

Waltons Sports defeated New Country Toyota 10-1
behind the strong pitching of Hal Hagen. Hagen
pitched another ace, throwing five scoreless
innings, striking out 11 and allowing only one
hit. Wolf Gergits and Kai Brumaghin had two hits
apiece, while Nick Chalmers and Brandon Deloria
each scored twice for Waltons. Asa Connell
pitched three solid innings for New Country.
Devin Towne drove in New Country's only run
following Matt Klingbiel's solid double to deep
left field.

PBA 6

In a game that was evenly matched PBA battled
back from a 5-2 deficit winning on a walk off HR
by Nick Smith in the 6th inning. For PBA Matt
Flynn went 3/3 with 2 Triples, 2 runs scored.
Griffin Clancy hit the ball hard to reach base.
Jacob Kamen made a key catch in RF to save a go
ahead run from Kiwanis in the 6th. Ryan Flynn
(6K's) and Nick Smith (7K's) pitched. For Kiwanis
Calvin Beckwith (7K's) pitched 5 strong innings.
Chris Byno made a perfect throw from RF to the
plate to gun down the go ahead run from PBA.
Liam Gibney made great plays at 3B and also
doubled in 2 runs.
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Majors Field
5:30 pm Capital Bauer 13
Waltons 1

Jay Navin pitched a complete game allowing just
one run and striking out 7 to lead Capital Bauer
to a victory. Ben Place blasted a home run and
had 4 RBI for CB. Jake House and Paul Butrico
added 2 singles. Hal Hagen blasted a triple and
added a single for Waltons.

Knights of Columbus 1

Devin Towne struck out 9 and allowed only one run
in 5-2/3 innings to lead New Country Toyota over
the Knights of Columbus. Eric Ostrander knocked
in the winning run with a double in the top of
the sixth. Trevor LiCalzi belted two hits and
scored a run. Drew Patterson pitched well in
relief for the K of C. Sam Gangi contributed
with two hits while Connor Crotty had a double
and knocked in the K of C's only run

run, while Sean Grecco added two singles.

PBA 15

PBA's entire lineup contributed to the winning
effort. Brian Surman went 3/3 with 4 RBIs, Ian
Frey 2/3 with a Triple and Double, and Nick Smith
hit two HRs (1 a grand slam HR). Mike Nagler
closed the game for the win pitching 2 strong
innings. New Country fought back with Jack Arpey
and Will Murnan hiting the ball hard to get on
base. Matt Klingbeil hit a towering 3 run homer.
Catcher Tiegue Donohoe picked off a runner on 1st
base with an excellent throw.

Capital Bauer edged Ace Homes in a game that saw
16 hits between the two teams. Lee Barringer
blasted a home run and added 2 singles going 3
for 3 on the night. Connor Kane had 2 singles and
a double. Brandon Kapoor also added 2 singles for
CB. Jack Rittenhouse had a single and double for
Ace Homes.

Jay Navin earned his 5th win of the season
striking out 7 for Capital Bauer in very close
first round playoff game. Ben Place had 2 singles
and Issac Greco added a single. Hal Hagen pitched
a great game striking out 7 batters for Waltons.
Kai Brumaghim had 2 doubles for Waltons.

New Country 2

Devin Coffey had two hits and two runs while his
brother Brendan Coffey, Nick Stiansen and Liam
Gibney had two hits as well to help Kiwanis to a
10-2 playoff win over New Country. Travis Mooney
returned from the Disabled List to pitch 3 strong
innings of shut out ball while delivering 2 hits
and 2 RBIs. Michael Scialdone pitched well in
relief and Sean Grecco had several stellar plays
in the field. For New Country, Trevor LiCalzi
and Matt Klingbeil scored and Devin Town had a
hit and an RBI.

Kiwanis had a strong pitching performances from
Travis Mooney, Quinn Beckwith and Calvin Beckwith
as they combined for 12 strikeouts, 4 hits and 1
run in a 9-1 win. Chris Byno, Matt Reals and
Joey Payne solidified the defense and while
Michael Scialdone delivered a two run single.
Ace Homes was led by Jack Rittenhouse who had 2
hits and pitched 2 strong innings in relief. Max
Poppel and Rory Flaherty both delivered singles
as well.

7K's and Ryan Flynn closed the game for the win.
Brian Surman and Ryan Czarnecki went 2/3 and John

on defense. Capital Bauer's Ben Place pitched 4
innings with 4K's and Lee Barringer came in for
relief and allowed no runs striking out 3. Jay
Navin led the game off with a sharp hit up the
middle. Issac Grecco made a great catch in RF.

Waltons Sports edged out Ace Homes 8-7 in a close
fought elimination playoff game. Hal Hagen
pitched five strong innings striking out 10
batters and Phil Varone pitched a 1-2-3 six
inning to ice the win for Waltons. Hagen and
Varone had two hits apiece and each scored two
runs. Calvin Millar also reached base and scored
two times. Ace Homes was led by the pitching and
hitting of Ryan Foss. Foss pitched five solid
innings and had two line drive hits. Zach
Kircher belted a two run home run over the left
field fence for Ace Homes.

Knights of Columbus 3

Keegan Murphy pitched five innings of 1 run ball
striking out 12 batters. Eric Beer finished the
strong pitching performance with a scoreless 6th
inning to earn the save. Conner Crotty called a
great game behind the plate for K of C. while
Tyler Murray and Adam Gary both helped out their
pitchers with strong defense. Austin Patterson
came up big at the plate knocking in two of K of
C's runs. Jay Navin pitched well in defeat for
Capital Bauer keeping the K of C bats off balance
the entire game Ben Place reached base all three
times and scored for Capital Bauer. Nick Winters
was great behind the plate throwing out to K of C
base runners on attempted steals while Conner
Kane and Lee Barringer played strong defense.

PBA 1

In an amazing pitching duel between Nick Smith
and Travis Mooney, PBA was able to rally 1 run in
the bottom of the 6th to win the game. For PBA
Nick Smith pitched a No-Hitter with 14K's and
singled in Ethan Daly, whose speed carried him
from 1st base to score the winning run. An
amazing pitching effort by Travis Mooney (4) and
Cal Beckwith (2) coupled with Kiwanis's great
defense shut PBA down for 5 innings. Brendan
Coffey had an outstanding day on defense at
Catcher and CF.

K of C won 5-0 Conner Crotty pitched a no hitter
with 11 strikeouts. Conner Crotty/Keegan
Murphy/Eric Beer/adam Gary all had two hits.
Fred Gergits and Phil Varone pitched for Waltons.

Knights of Columbus 5

Knights of Columbus beat Kiwanis 5-1 to earn a
spot in the Championship game. After a tight
pitchers duel between Drew Patterson and Calvin
Beckwith, Riley Rossi hit a solo home run in the
5th and then Eric Beer hit a 2 run double to
clinch the win for Knights of Columbus. Michael
Scialdone and Chris Byno had strong defensive
games and Quinn Beckwith drove in Kiwanis' only
run.

PBA 6

K of C beat PBA 8-6 to force a final championship
game match up. PBA struck first scoring 4 runs
in the first inning Ethan Daly led the game off
with a double to left and thenMatt Flynn knocked
Daley in on a line drive double to left center.
Nick Smith worked a walk and Ryan Flynn came up
with a big hit to knock in two more. Ryan Flynn
scored the the final run of the inning for PBA.
Keegan Murphy was able to hold down the PBA
offense for the next 3 1/3 innings before being
relieved by Tyler Murray. K of C scratched out
two runs in the top of the forth inning to make
the score 4-2 and then they scored 6 runs in the
top half of the 5th to take the lead 8-4. Drew
Patterson worked an RBI walk with the bases
loaded to start the scoring. Eric Beer came up
with a 2 run RBI single, Conner Crotty followed
that up with a 2 run RBI double. Sam Gangi came
up with a RBI single to finish the inning for the
Knights. PBA was far from finish as both Matt
Flynn and Nick Smith reached base in the 5th and
then Ryan Flynn came up with a two run triple off
the right center field fence. Tyler Murray was
able to work out of the inning to hold the score
at 8-6. Sam Gangi came in to pitch the 6th

The warriors of the playoffs, Knights of
Columbus, fell after brilliantly forcing PBA into
a final showdown in the championship game. Nick
Smith lead PBA by pitching 5 1/3 innings with
12K's and belting 2 homers (15th and 16th of the
season). Matt Flynn closed the game with 2K's.
Ryan Flynn and Griffin Clancy also went deep with
back to back home runs. Knights of Columbus
fought back with Sam Gangi who went 2/3 with a
triple, then scored on a hard hit single by Tyler
Murray. Conner Crotty pitched well, striking
out 6 PBA batters. Sam Gangi came in to finish
on the mound. Knights of Columbus had won 5
straight playoff games in 7 nights against
formidable opponents to get to the final League
Championship game.
