12U Thoroughbreds- Bill Rice, manager and Phil Varone, Jack Parrish and Will Gergits coaches

Roster: Lee Barringer, Teigue Donohoe, Sam Gangi, Wolf Gergits, Jacob Kamen, Matt Klingbeil, Mike Nagler, Mike Parrish, Jack Rice, Nick Stiansen , Brian Surman, Phil Varone.

Schedule: Ballston Spa Tournament July 11th, Pepsi Tournament July 18th

7.13 Saratoga T's 22 Clifton Park 4
Saratoga had a great team effort as they exploded to beat Clifton Park in the consolation round.  Each member of the team scored at least once and Matt Klingbeil and Teigue Donohoe scored four times each.  Klingbeil and Phil Varone went 4/4 and Jack Rice and Brian Surman added three hits apiece.  Mike Nagler had a solid double to the gap in left center field and Nick Stiansen also had two solid hits.  Jacob Kamen, Phil Varone, and Jack Rice held Clifton Park in check pitching four scoreless innings.  This was a great finish to the tourney, and have the Thoroughbreds primed for the Pepsi Tournament which starts this Friday.

7.12 Greeneville 10 Saratoga T's 9
Saratoga lost a nail biter as they fell to the Greeneville Spartans in the bottom of the seventh inning.   Saratoga led most of the way, as each player in the lineup contributed with at least one base hit.  Phil Varone lead the offensive attack going 3/4 with a monstrous two-run home run.  Jack Rice also had three hits and Brian Surman and Teigue Donohoe added two hits apiece.   Mike Parrish kept the game close defensively throwing out the potential go ahead run at the plate from right field in the sixth inning.  Jacob Kamen and Jack rice were strong on the mound, and Phil Varone pitched a scoreless 5th and 6th inning before the Spartans final comeback in the bottom of the 7th.

 7.12 Halfmoon 11 Saratoga T's 3
Saratoga played the tournament favorite Halfmoon close for the first four innings of the game, but then ran out of steam against the powerful Halfmoon squad.  Jacob Kamen pitched magnificently holding Halfmoon to two runs over the first two innings, which was quite a feat considering the Mariners finished the game with four home runs.  Phil Varone had the big hit driving in the first two Saratoga runs with a solid double to the gap in right center field.  Teigue Donohoe had the only other hit for Saratoga.

7.11 Nisky 15 Saratoga T's 10
In a game were Saratoga once trailed 9-2, the Thoroughbreds mounted a formidable comeback but fell just short in the opening round of the Midsummer Classic.  Lee Barringer provided the spark in the offense as the leadoff batter with two hits.  Brian Surman provide the power, hitting his first home run and scoring three runs.  Teigue Donohoe started the 6-run sixth inning comeback with sole home run over the center field fence.  Unfortunately Saratoga fell just short as the tournament time limit was imposed - which appeared to be the only way to stop their momentum.  Even the opposing coach took time to talk to the team after the game and compliment them on their professionalism and never-quit mentality.

7.8  SALL 12U T's 12   Clifton Park 2
Behind an error free defense, Teigue Donohoe, Jack Rice Phil Varone, and Jacob Kamen allowed only 3 hits and  2 runs over seven innings.  Lee Barringer, Jack Rice and Phil Varone each had two hits while Brian Surman had a bases loaded triple.  Wolf Gergits and Jacob Kamen each scored 3 runs while Mike Parrish and Mike Nagler had singles.

The ump's called the game due to darkness right after the 7th inning with the scored tied 8 to 8.  SALL was down the whole game trailing 5 to 0 at one point.  They tied  it up at 6 to 6 in the bottom of the sixth, went down again 8 to 6 in the 7th.  But they had no quit in them and came right back and tied it again 8 to 8  and that's where it ended. Outstanding pitching by Matt Triola and Kieran Wurl and some timely hitting by Jack Cairns led the way.
