Mayor Johnson addresses the Opening Day Crowd
fantastic opening day on April 26th. Beautiful weather, great games and a lot of laughs were seen on the East Fields. The highlights of the days ceremony were the 12 Year Olds getting their jackets, the recognition of the many individual and corporate donors and the opening day first pitch thrown out by Mayor Scott Johnson (a strike down the middle to Devin Coffey of Kiwanis). Jim Flynn, representing Adirondack Trust and their generous scoreboard donation, threw out the "second" pitch to Ryan Foss of Ace Homes.
Aquafina MLB Pitch, Hit and Run- SALL is pleased to announce that we are hosting the Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run competetion on May 17th at East Side Rec. It is a FREE program and a great opportunity for the kids to have some fun and potentially compete with other kids on the national level. The competition is open
to all young athletes from the area, ages 7 - 14. Click Here for more information or e-mail Gene Waters at Gwaters@indevus.com. Here is the final registration form.
Doyle Baseball Academy- SALL is excited to be bringing Blake Doyle and the Doyle Baseball Academy back to Saratoga to run a 3 day baseball clinic. It will be held at East Side Rec over Memorial Day Weekend. Doyle Baseball was founded by former Red Sox great Denny Doyle and his brother Brian (1978 Yankees World Series MVP) and Blake (Baltimore). Together they have been training athletes from ages 8 to 18 and currently work with athletes through college and the MLB. This is a unique opportunity to learn from the best! Space is limited so reserve your spot now! For more information, please review the attached application form (Click Here) or email John Farfaglia at jfar@nycap.rr.com .
Player Development Days- We are pleased to announce Player Development Days on Sundays at Eastside Rec. SALL is committed to developing our young athletes by improving their baseball skills and providing them with the tools to succeed. The Player Development Program will be headed up by Spa Catholic Varsity Coach and SALL board member Phonsey Lambert and Major League VP Bob Kolbe. Player Development Days are open to all SALL players. Stay tuned for more information!

Dear Saratoga American Little League Families,

As you can see, we have been quite busy in the off-season making significant improvements to our facilities and the entire program:
1) Revised website to provide you with consistently updated scores, schedules, standings and contact information.
2) Field improvements such as a new batting cage, new Minor League scoreboard, dugout repairs, concession stand upgrades and upgraded field conditions.
3) Great new programs such as the Doyle Baseball Academy, Player Development Days and Aquafina MLB Pitch, Hit and Run.
4) We've purchased new uniforms for the Minors and Majors and they will be able to keep their coveted jerseys after the season!
5) We've named our end of season tournament the "Trish Farone Memorial Classic" after our former league president. Trish passed from us in 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer but not before leaving her mark on SALL and the entire community. The winner of the Trish Farone Memorial Classic will represent SALL in the championship game of the Mayor's Cup on June 21st.
Signups are up dramatically over 2007 and we thank all the families for their interest in the league. We are coming up with more new programs which will be announced shortly.
We are ready for an exciting season and we thank the families for their continued volunteerism and, of course, the players for their love of the game. We are counting down the days to when we can all yell…PLAY BALL!
Best Regards,
John Farfaglia
President, Saratoga American Little League
